Today's trading session saw to it that markets closed higher today, as Dow Jones gained 1.34% and closed at 31,500. S&P 500 ended the session at 3,797.34 after a 1.19% gain.
US markets are set to open tomorrow in around 16 hours. In the meantime, upbeat European markets ended today higher as CAC is up by 1.59%, hitting 6,131.36. Upbeat Asia-Pacific markets ended today higher as ASX 200 soars by 1.54%, reaching 6,779.4.
Though earnings season has just begun, most of the companies in the S&P 500 reporting Q3 results passed Wall Street estimates. Johnson & Johnson & Lockheed Martin are featured this past week; Microsoft and Alphabet results are expected soon.
Today's rise takes place amid mixed market indicators — United States Services PMI released today at 13:45 UTC with a figure of 46.6, while the previous figure was 49.3. United States Composite PMI came out at 47.3, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 49.3. United States Manufacturing PMI came out at 49.9, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 51.
Today's gains have given market bulls further impetus to expect strong macro data going forward, such as United States Crude Oil Inventories is projected to outperform its last figure with 1.38 million, having previously been at -1.73 million. The figure will be published Wednesday.
Furthermore, the market is looking at tomorrow at 14:00 UTC data for United States Consumer Confidence will be released, with an expected decline to 106.5 from the preceding figure of 108.
Also worthy of note, United States New Home Sales (Sep) scheduled to come out Wednesday.
